Two Hartsville Residents Arrested Following Disruption at Lebanon Football Game

September 18, 2024 – Tuesday night, two Hartsville residents were arrested on multiple charges following a disturbance at a local middle school football game.

James H. Brewer, 34, and Jessi L. Harris, 34, were taken into custody after a physical altercation at the end of the game, hosted by Winfree Bryant Middle School against Satterfield Middle School from Hartsville.

Deputies arrested Brewer on charges of disorderly conduct and assault. Harris, his partner, was also charged with public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and assault. Both individuals were transported to the Wilson County Correctional Facility, where they were booked and later released on bond.

The incident began as a verbal dispute, which escalated into a physical confrontation. School resource officers promptly intervened to de-escalate the situation. Additional deputies from the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, along with officers from the Lebanon Police Department, were dispatched to assist with crowd control. Following an on-scene investigation, Brewer and Harris were identified as the primary aggressors.

“Threatening or violent behavior, especially at family-oriented events such as school games, will not be tolerated. We encourage all attendees to conduct themselves with respect and consideration for others. Law enforcement will continue to ensure the safety of all attendees and hold accountable those who choose to act unlawfully,” Wilson County Sheriff’s Office stated.
