A traffic stop in Mt. Juliet led to the discovery of drugs, a stolen firearm and an outstanding warrant, resulting in the arrest of a local woman.
According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, an officer conducted a traffic stop on Golden Bear Gateway after observing a vehicle with a suspended registration.
During the stop, a search of the vehicle led to the discovery of methamphetamine and a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Nashville.
Police also discovered the driver, a 36-year-old Mt. Juliet woman, had an active warrant out of Rutherford County for theft of property between $10,000 and $60,000.
The woman was taken into custody and booked into the Wilson County Jail on charges related to possession of methamphetamine, possession of a stolen firearm and the outstanding warrant.
Mt. Juliet police said proactive traffic enforcement efforts can often uncover more serious criminal activity and thanked the community for its continued support.
