Traffic Stop In Mt. Juliet Leads To Drug, Gun Charges And Child Endangerment Counts

What began as a traffic stop for illegal window tint in Mt. Juliet led to multiple felony charges after officers discovered drugs, a firearm, and four children inside the vehicle.

According to the Mt. Juliet Police Department, officers stopped a vehicle on Lebanon Road near the county line after noticing window tint that was not within legal limits.

During the stop, police learned the driver, a 35-year-old Nashville man, was driving on a revoked license and was currently on probation for domestic assault.

As officers continued their investigation, they reportedly found marijuana packaged for resale and an AR-style rifle hidden beneath the passenger seat. Police said the driver is a convicted felon and prohibited from possessing firearms.

Authorities also said four children, ages 12, 11, 5, and 4, were inside the vehicle at the time of the stop.

The driver was charged with possession of Schedule VI marijuana for resale, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony, driving on a revoked license, and four counts of child endangerment. A referral was also made to the Department of Children’s Services.
