The City of Mt. Juliet Board of Commissioners announced, via social media, that Mt. Juliet Police Department Chief James Hambrick’s “Community Strong” song is the official City of Mt. Juliet song.

Hambrick recently released a CD, “Somebody’s Gotta Tell Them,” which includes “Community Strong,” that Hambrick performed recently at the Celebrate Mt. Juliet 50th Anniversary Presented By Volunteer State Bank. “I am humbled by, and grateful to the Mayor and Board of Commissioners for the honor of passing the resolution making “Community Strong” the official song of Mt. Juliet,” Chief Hambrick said.

“My prayer and desire is as we move forward, that it will transition from “my song” or “your song” to “OUR SONG”. It was written from the heart, and I feel it truly captures the heart of our community.”

The lyrics of “Community Strong”

The town that I live in has grown fast in a little bit of time
People coming from near and far and with me you know that’s fine Oh, Oh that’s just fine

They say love makes the world go round and it’s good when we all get along. And that is true cause we have found we pull together and we can’t go wrong.
Oh, oh can’t go wrong.

Chorus:
When it’s you and me, we’re community strong. When it’s you and me, we got the strength to carry on.
So, let’s all get together now and sing it like a song
Oh, oh we’re community strong
Oh, oh we’re community strong

Round here it’s more than a motto printed on a hat yes, we really love our neighbors, and we got each other’s back

Chorus:
When it’s you and me, we’re community strong. When it’s you and me, we got the strength to carry on.
So, let’s all get together now and sing it like a song
Oh, oh we’re community strong
Oh, oh we’re community strong
