On Wednesday afternoon, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, with the assistance of a TBI agent attached to the unit and the Mt. Juliet Police Department Narcotics Division, seized a large amount of cocaine from a Wilson County man.
Following an ongoing methamphetamine and cocaine investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at an apartment complex in Mt. Juliet. The suspect was found in possession of 1,327 grams (2.9 lbs) of cocaine and 17 grams of marijuana. The street value of the narcotics was approximately $1,000,000. Detectives also discovered evidence suggesting the suspect was altering the cocaine to extend its distribution.
The suspect has a criminal history dating back to 1996, with numerous drug and weapons charges. His name cannot be released at this time due to the ongoing investigation. He is facing charges of Sale of Schedule I (Cocaine), Possession of Schedule I (Cocaine) with Intent for Resale, Simple Possession of Schedule VI (Marijuana), and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
The case will be presented to the Wilson County Grand Jury at a later date.
