Many local school districts will be closed Thursday, April 3rd due to severe weather and potential flooding. Here is the latest.

Cannon County Schools – Closed
Cannon County Schools will be CLOSED on Thursday, April 3, 2025, due to the potential for severe weather.
Cheatham County School District – Closed
The Cheatham County School District will be closed on Thursday, April 3. The extended daycare program will be closed and there will be no extra-curricular activities and community use of school facilities on Thursday. Additionally, all after-school activities and community use of school facilities for Wednesday, April 2 should be finished by 7 p.m. The Cheatham County School Board meeting, originally scheduled for Thursday, April 3, will now be held on Thursday, April 10 at 6 p.m. at Sycamore High School.
Dickson County Schools – Closed
The Dickson County School System will be closed on Thursday, April 3, 2025 due to possible severe weather with high winds and flooding.
Metro Nashville Public Schools – Closed
Due to inclement weather, Metro Nashville Public Schools will be closed today, April 3, 2025.
All before and after school care is cancelled unless the provider offers an inclement weather site. Families are encouraged to check with their provider for that information.
All after-school activities, including sports practices, games, performances and meetings are also cancelled.
District offices will be closed for in-person activities but working remotely. Some positions may require staff to work in person, and so employees should be working closely with their supervisors to ensure the needs of the district are being met.
Robertson County Schools – Two Hours Late
Robertson County Schools and district offices will open two-hours late on Thursday, April 3.
Sumner County Schools – Closed
Sumner County Schools will be closed Thursday, April 3, 2025 due to the potential for severe weather and flooding in the forecast. Central Office and Support Services will report as scheduled.
Wilson County Schools – Closed
Message from WCS: “Due to increased concern of very inclement, and possibly severe weather through the overnight and during morning school related traffic hours, Wilson County Schools will be CLOSED on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025.
Flash flooding concerns also exist for tomorrow morning. We understand that while there still remains some uncertainty on the exact timing of forecasted weather to make its way into Wilson County, all the information we have at this time leads to a closure being the absolute best way to ensure safety for all.
Storms overnight have left road debris and power outages in areas of the county. With the severe weather forecasted to extend into school hours, there will be no school in Williamson County Schools on Thursday, April 3, 2025.
The School Age Childcare Program will be closed.
Twelve month employees should follow the inclement weather protocol. Those who can work remotely, may do so, with the approval of their supervisor.
