OBITUARY: William Matthew ‘Bill’ Robertson

William-Matthew-Bill-Robertson

William Matthew ‘Bill’ Robertson, age 82, passed away on November 18, 2024.

Bill Robertson was a loving husband, father, and “Grandeddy.” He served in the United States Air Force and then sold Ford vehicles for many years. After retirement, Bill hosted weekly poker games and charity tournaments.

Aside from his career, Bill loved spending time with his wife and family. Bill was married to Doe for 55 years! Together they had two daughters, two sons-in-law, and five grandchildren. Bill was heavily involved in his grandkids lives and never missed any of their extracurricular activities. He also loved his grand-dogs.

Bill was known as the “Life of the Party” and he cherished all the memories he made with his poker friends and family. He loved to sing karaoke, even if “Wooly Bully” embarrassed his daughters. He was a storyteller, jokester, and never met a stranger.

Even though we are sad to see him go, we find comfort in knowing he passed away doing what he loved….playing poker.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Nannie Robertson and a sister, Joann Sandfer.

Bill is survived by:
Wife of 55 years – Doe Robertson
Daughters – Lisa (Brian) Short and Angie (Mike) Witt
Sisters – Gale (Paul) Flowers and Terra Sexton
Grandchildren – Jimmy (Haley) Pinson, Amber (Jacob) Anderson, Kimberly Pinson, Emily Short, Sara Short, Kyle Witt, and Kyla Rumbaugh
Numerous nieces and nephews
