William-David-Yeargin

William David Yeargin was born in Nashville, Tennessee on January 21st, 1949 and passed away at Centennial Hospital on Sunday, August 7th, 2022, he was 73 years old. Mr. Yeargin resided in Mount Juliet, TN.

David is preceded in death by his brother, Randy Yeargin, and sisters Lynn Higginbotham and Martine Yeargin.

He is survived by his wife, Paula “PJ” Yeargin; his son, Kevin; his daughter-in-law, Caitlin; his three grandchildren, Lucas, Fred, and Finn; and his siblings, Diane Fisher and Bruce Yeargin.

The second of six children, David was born and raised in Nashville, TN. In 1969, he joined the Marine Corps and served in the Vietnam War. In 1971, he met a girl from Kentucky named Paula Jo on a blind date. They had dinner at Sir Pizza, and the food must have been pretty good because they decided to marry soon after. In February of this year, they celebrated their 49th anniversary.

After being told by many doctors and at least one psychic that she couldn’t have children, PJ gave birth to Kevin in December of 1986. David decided to move the family from a small one-bedroom house in Antioch to a slightly larger home in Mount Juliet, where PJ still resides today.

David held positions at National Life Group, Gaylord Entertainment, and finally Logan Aluminum. He was a diligent worker, and he met many life-long friends and golfing buddies during his career. Whether it was watching the Vols struggle at Neyland Stadium or drowning tears in beers at the Crow’s Nest, David’s pals could count on him to lift their spirits.

If you knew David, you liked David. Always a cut-up, he knew how to brighten every room with good humor and a loving heart. Above all, he enjoyed goofing off with his grandkids, who have never felt more love in this world than in the short time they got to spend with their “Boppa.”

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to United Way. https://www.unitedway.org/#
