Wenge Parr passed away on January 5, 2025 at age 70 at her home in Lebanon TN surrounded by family.
Wenge Yang Parr was born in Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province to father Yang Zhen and mother Liu Xiuzhen.
Wenge’s first Bachelor’s Degree was in Education (Beijing Teacher’s College). Her second Bachelor’s Degree was in Finance (Bank of China’s School of Finance), her third degree, a two-year degree, was in Computer Accounting (Pellissippi State Technical Community College), and her fourth degree was a Master’s Degree in Accounting (University of Tennessee).
After coming to the United States, she took classes at the University of Tennessee and Pellissippi State (both located in Knoxville). In 2007, Wenge decided to pursue a Master’s Degree in Accounting. She set her sights on working in financial examination for the State of Tennessee government. She met both objectives by acquiring a master’s degree and being hired by the State of Tennessee, Department of Commerce and Insurance where she acquired several professional certifications and became an Insurance Financial Examiner. She married and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee, where she worked in the business offices of various companies.
Wenge had a varied work career. Her first job was teaching English to Chinese children. Later she worked as a translator for Non-Ferrous Metals GMBH (a Chinese company based in Dusseldorf, Germany). Wenge also excelled at preparing authentic Chinese food and writing poetry. Wenge attended the Nashville Chinese Baptist Church.
Wenge was especially proud of her son Xuan Jia, who graduated Summa Cum Laude in Industrial Engineering (University of Tennessee). He also acquired an MBA at the Fuqua School of Business (Duke University). He worked at Eaton Corporation (Los Angeles, CA), in both Aerospace and Supply Chain areas.
