OBITUARY: Tina Toneff

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Tina Sue Toneff of Mount Juliet, TN, on April 2, 2026, at the age of 71. Born in Cleveland, OH, she spent most of her life in Akron, OH.

Tina graduated from Normandy High School and from the University of Akron. She worked as a school health aide at Bath Elementary School for 15 years. Described by students as comforting, fun, and welcoming, Tina played a significant role in so many of their lives.

Tina had many hobbies. She felt so much joy at the beach, especially when vacationing with her family on Hilton Head Island as her children grew. She truly valued and loved her family. We would be remiss not to mention Tina’s incredible cooking and willingness to feed anyone who crossed her path. She adored springtime and flowers, but lily of the valley, honeysuckle, and lilacs were her favorite. She and her husband regularly tended to a stunning garden. She devoured books and always had a scented candle burning.

A warm and vibrant wife, devoted mom to her four children, and jovial mimi to her five grandchildren, Tina was generous, kind, and funny. All her life, she had a gift for connecting with anyone, often making friends – and even community – in the smallest of daily errands. Her compassion and empathy were evident in everything she did. She loved greatly and was loved deeply by so many, regularly referred to by others as “Mama Toneff.”

Tina is survived by her lifelong love and husband of 48 years, Michael; her children Michael Toneff (Amulya Sreekumar), Heather (Christopher) Carver, and Hannah Toneff (Alex Boyer); her grandsons, Weston Carver, Michael Davis, Dylan Carver, Mitchell Davis, and Marshall Crabtree, her sister; Jennifer Damon; and countless aunts, uncles, in-laws, nieces, and nephews who loved her dearly.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Chelsea Toneff; parents, Archibald and Honey Stevenson; sister, Terry Supple; brother in-law, Kenneth Damon; and parents-in-law, George and Helen Toneff. We find peace in knowing she is in heaven with Jesus, laughing and celebrating joyously with her loved ones.

Visitation will be held in the Partlow Funeral Chapel on Sunday, April 26th from 2 P.M until 3:30 P.M. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:30 P.M. The service will be live streamed via link on Tina’s obituary page.

Our family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Quality Center for Rehabilitation in Lebanon, TN, and Alive Hospice center in Nashville, TN. They cared for Tina so well.

Tina, you are forever loved past all the counting.
