OBITUARY: Thomas Warren “Tommy” Garrett

Thomas Warren “Tommy” Garrett, age 81 of Lebanon, passed away on June 18th, 2026 surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by wife, Kaye; parents, Thelmer “Boss” and Callie Garrett; sister, Joyce Garrett; brother-in-law, Jon Grace and sister-in-law, Marsha Garrett.

He is survived by daughter, Angela (Michael) Martin; son, Brian Garrett; granddaughters, Kayla (Jesse) Gaddes, Chelsea (Brandon) George; great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Macie, Andrew, Alexander and Adalynn Kaye-Ellen; siblings, Betty Grace, Jerry Garrett, Larry Garrett; special friend, Brenda Kolbe as well as many other loving family members.

Born and raised in Lebanon, Tommy was proud to call Wilson County home throughout his life. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, including service in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. Following his military service, he retired from AVCO/TEXTRON after many years of dedicated employment and later worked in the produce department at Walmart for more than 20 years, where he enjoyed visiting with customers and coworkers. Tommy was a faithful member of Hurricane Baptist Church for over 50 years, serving as song leader for many years and sharing his love of music through worship.

He enjoyed racing cars at Buffalo Valley and spending time bowling and playing softball. In quieter moments, he could often be found working crossword puzzles or playing solitaire. Tommy was also a devoted fan of the Tennessee Volunteers and the Atlanta Braves, rarely missing an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends and will be remembered for his faithful spirit and love for those around him.

Visitation for Mr. Garrett will take place Monday, June 22nd from 4 to 7 PM and Tuesday from 10 AM until the funeral service at 11AM at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens. Bro. Ken Trammel and Bro. Ronnie Smith will officiate the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Adoration Hospice and the Tennessee State Veterans Home for their caring service.
