Mr. Steve Yates, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. A proud graduate of Lebanon High School, Class of 1969. Steve carried the spirit of his hometown with him throughout his life. He was a member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. Steve was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from his wife, children, and grandchildren. He wore the titles of husband, father, and grandfather with humility and deep pride, always putting family first and leading by quiet example of love, kindness, and faithfulness.

In his younger years, Steve made his mark on the diamond as the Lebanon Little League Home Run King, setting a record of 13 home runs in 1964 an achievement still remembered by those who knew his talent and determination. Steve lived life with the wind at his back and the open road ahead. A lifelong motorcycle enthusiast, his beloved Harley-Davidson was his pride and joy, and he rode faithfully for decades. He was also a proud member of the Patriotic Guard Riders, riding with honor and patriotism.

An artist at heart, Steve had a deep appreciation for beauty and creation. He expressed this through his work as a landscape artist and photographer, capturing scenes of nature that reflected the peace and wonder he carried within. Professionally, he dedicated 53 years of hard work to the oilfield industry-an extraordinary testament to loyalty, strength, and perseverance.

Steve’s dog, Lefty who passed away 15 years ago, was his constant companion and faithful friend, rarely far from his side. Their bond was one of quiet devotion and unconditional love. What truly set Steve apart was his heart for people-especially the elderly. He never missed an opportunity to stop, listen, and make others feel seen and valued. His kindness was genuine, his compassion deep, and his presence comforting.

Steve leaves behind a legacy of gentleness, respect, and selfless love. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
