Sammie Mae Jones Jewell- age 87 of Lebanon, went home to be with Jesus, Monday March 9, 2026. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Bethel Jones & Willie Belle McKnight Jones; her husband, Bobby Lee Jewell; brothers, Charles Jones, Hebert Jones, Phillip Jones, Laurel Jones, Joseph Robert Jones, James L. “Jimmy” Jones; sisters, Dean Filson, Vertrease Edwards, Sue Thompson, & Nelle Ricketts.
Sammie was survived by her children, Ranie (Keith) Ford, Lanny Jewell, & Mark (Claudia) Jewell; grandchildren, Lara (Mack) Jewell Green, Logan (Kyle) Craighead, Kendra Vaden, Halle Ford & Lexi Ford; great grandchildren, Cayleigh Barber, Mason Craighead, Gunner Green, Brayten Craighead, & Harper Green; special friend and neighbor, Tutti Conatser.
Sammie was a 1958 graduate of Lebanon High School, and worked along side of her husband and son in the family business, Jewell Signs. She found great joy in tending to her flowers and plants, taking pride in watching them grow and bloom. She also loved reading, cooking, and cheering on the Atlanta Braves. Above all else, she loved her family more than anything, and her life was rooted in the care and devotion she gave to them.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening March 12th from 3-7 p.m. & Friday March 13th 11:00 a.m. until funeral service at 1:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Mark Caruth & Pastor David Filson will officiate the services. Interment, Wilson Co. Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers, Derick Cravens, Paul Lee Jewell, Kevin Jones, Kyle Craighead, Taylor Badger, & Steven Sandlin. Honorary pallbearers, Larry Jewell, Mackenzie Green and Brian Cravens.
