Sammie Dillon Johnson, age 87 of the Norene community, passed away Friday evening at American House Lebanon.
Born Dec. 30, 1934 in Chattanooga, she was the daughter of the late Sam and Martha Benson Dillon.
Sammie was preceded in death by her husband, William K. “Brownie” Johnson in 2002 and by her brother John Dillon.
She was a 1953 graduate of Watertown High School and had a 45 year career with Life and Casualty and American General Life Insurance Company as an insurance manager.
Sammie is survived by her children, Dan (Kathy) Johnson of Lebanon, Donna (Claude) Watson of Lebanon and Lisa (Tony) Atchison of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, Rachel (David) Deffendall, Sarah Frye, Courtney (Brian) Estep, Paige (Taylor) Sparks, Shelby (Jeff) Merryman; great-grandchildren, Connor Jones, Eli Deffendall, Ryan Deffendall, Cade Frye, Molly Estep, Ally Estep, Luke Merryman and arriving in October, Watson Sparks.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 12, 2022 at Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Medlin officiating. Visitation 5-7 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. till service time on Monday.
