Ronald “Ron” Lee Thomas, 87 of Lebanon, Tennessee, (formerly of Indianapolis Indiana) passed away at home on 09/11/2024 with family by his side.

He was born February 25, 1937 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Newman Orbin and Mima (Hubbs) Thomas.

He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from, Ohio State University.

Ron made Lebanon his home for the last 25 years. He had a strong relationship with Jesus and he was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon.

He enjoyed tinkering on anything that needed to be improved or repaired. He could read a book and teach himself to fix anything. One hobby Ron was active in was ham radio. He was an active member of, Wilson County Amateur Radio Club.

Ron worked as a claims adjuster in Indiana for 27 years. Then he became an independent courier while in Indiana and later in Tennessee. Ron had finally found a job he thoroughly enjoyed.

Ron was also a Korean War Veteran in the US Navy. On his deployment, he was on the aircraft carrier, the USS Boxer. He was very proud to have served his country.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Judy (Haven) Thomas, son Scott (Linda) Thomas, five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister Kyla Vesta Schaffer Bross, brother Allen Thomas and son Steven Thomas.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sept. 28 at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon. Visitation will be at 11:00, Service at 12:00. https://www.smithfamilyfcs.com
