Mr. Roger Lewis “JR” Hatfield Jr., age 43 of Portland, Tennessee passed away on Friday, October 24th at Vanderbilt Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.
JR was born on August 9, 1982 in Nashville, Tennessee to his father, Roger Hatfield Sr. and mother, Anita Russell. Mr. Hatfield is preceded in death by his sister, Dianna Hatfield; grandparents, Valentine and Wilhelmina Hatfield and William Russell and Annie Swift; and uncles, David Hatfield, Chris Russell and Ronnie Russell.
He is survived by his father, Roger Hatfield Sr.; mother, Anita Russell (David Vermeulen); children, Quentin Hatfield, Kaleigh Hatfield and Kasen Hatfield; sisters, Kristy Stephens (Don Williams) and Crystal Hatfield (Chris Holcombe); wife, Tina Hatfield; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
JR’s love for gaming was unmatched – his Xbox was his favorite escape. Saturdays were reserved for cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, his team through and through. And when it came to his prized Dodge Challenger, nothing made him prouder than taking it out for a drive. He was a wonderful son, father, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services for Mr. Hatfield will be conducted in the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Portland on Friday, October 31st at 12:00 PM conducted by Bro. Shad Carnes. Visitation with the family will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, October 30th from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again on Friday, October 31st from 10:00 AM until service time at 12:00 PM.
