Roger Anthony “Tony” Armistead, age 65 of Lebanon passed away peacefully at his residence on Sunday, May 19, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm Robert Patterson Armistead Jr. & Dolores Jean Henderson Armistead; brothers, Jimmy Armistead, Larry Armistead; nephew, Jamie Armistead.
Tony is survived by his wife of 38 years, Carolyn Porter Armistead; daughter, Cayla (Wes) Kolbe; grandchild, Beckett Kolbe; siblings, Debbie Gorjian, Sammy Armistead, Teresa “Tesa” Armistead, Tina Armistead; numerous, nieces, nephews, cousins & other loving family members.
Tony was saved at a young age and his love for the Lord carried him through his life. He was a member of the Covenant Fellowship Church of the Nazarene and was very involved with the Music ministry and drama. Tony was a 1977 graduate of Lebanon High School. He was a member of the LHS baseball team. He attended Art School at the Art Institute in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He was owner and Contractor with Tony Armistead Builder. He built many custom homes in the Mid-State area and was very passionate about his job, including building his own home in 2003.
He was a talented drummer, musician and songwriter, recording multiple tracks throughout the years. His love for music brought to his life many wonderful friends and experiences. His greatest love was his wife Carolyn and his greatest accomplishment was his daughter, Cayla. Nothing made him any prouder than his grandson, Beckett who called him “Pa T”. A special memory for Cayla was a postcard he wrote to her while in Africa on a mission trip expressing their love by saying, “You are our world…”
Visitation will be held in the Immanuel Baptist Church (214 Castle Heights Ave. Lebanon, TN 37087) on Thursday, May 23rd, 5:00-8:00 p.m. & Friday, May 24th, 11:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Pastor Darrin Reynolds will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Tony’s memory to his grandson Beckett’s College Fund at Pinnacle Financial Partners, 411 South Cumberland Street, Lebanon, TN 37087.
