Reeles Daniel (Danny) Land Jr., 77, of Lebanon, TN passed away on May 24,2024 after a brief battle with liver cancer.

He was born in Stuttgart, Germany on February 26, 1947 to Reeles Land of TX and Catherine Land of Stornoway, Scotland.

Danny was preceded in death by his son, Leslie Brian Land, parents, Reeles and Catherine Land, and brother Louie Land of Murfreesboro, TN.

He is survived by his sister Rena (Mark) Peden; two daughters, Michelle (Dylan) Oxford, Laura (Jim) Davis; nephews, Kevin (Stacy) Hunter, Darrin Hunter; niece, April (Barrett) Lindsay; grandchildren, Evan Davis, Emma Oxford and Katie Davis; great niece Aubrie Hunter, Hayden Lindsay; great nephew, Gavin Lindsay.

Serving in the Army from 1968-1970, he received the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal as a Sharpshooter, a decorated Marksman (Rifle) and 2nd class Missileman. After honorable discharge, he served in the reserves until 1972.

Danny graduated from Nashville Tech with two associate degrees: one in electrical engineering and the other in electronics. He worked for the automotive industry as a quality manufacturing engineer until he retired. Danny had a passion for the CB community and was the President of the Nashville CB club in the mid 70’s, known as The Sound Man. Danny’s other hobbies included fishing, following the Blue Angels, restoring his corvette and watching his extensive collection of movies.

After retirement, Danny remained active in his community, working at the Mini-Mart and Zips, where in which coworkers and patrons became like his second family. He also volunteered at the Lebanon Police Department’s call center.

Visitation for Mr. Land will be held Sunday, June 2nd from 1-5 PM at Partlow Funeral Chapel (602 South Cumberland Street, Lebanon, TN). https://partlowchapel.com
Danny will be laid to rest at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery on Monday, June 3rd at 1 PM.
