Raymond Bay – age 91 of Lebanon passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was preceded in death by parents, Cowan and Eula Bay; brother, Sam Bay; infant sisters, Katie Mae Bay and Nellie Sue Bay; sister, Naomi (Tommy) Jarrell; brothers-in-law, Jimmy Driver and Glenn Driver; sisters-in-law, Dot Driver and Janet Driver; and nephew, Phillip Bay.
Mr. Bay is survived by loving wife of almost 70 years, Mary Lou Bay; son, Dale (Leslie) Bay; grandson, Christopher (Trish) Bay; granddaughter, Chelsea (Gregory) Nyce; great grandchildren, Gordon Lee and William Thomas Nyce; brothers-in-law, J.L. Driver, Alton (Barbara Ann) Driver, Wayne (Gayle) Driver, Mike (Sharon) Driver, sister-in-law, Kathy Miller, nieces, Barbara Ann Driver and Linda Joyce Bay, nephews, Larry (Jan) Bay and Ronnie (Pat) Jarrell; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Mr. Bay was the last living Elder of Melrose Cumberland Presbyterian Church which was in the Cairo Bend Community. The church building is now located in Fiddlers Grove. He was also a member and former Elder at New Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
After 40 years with the City of Lebanon, he retired as the Superintendent of the Water Department. Mr. Bay loved the Atlanta Braves and the great outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tending to the land, and the companionship of his beloved dogs. His greatest joy came from his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. They were the light of his life and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He will be remembered as a humble man of integrity, a true steward of his faith and family, and a quiet pillar of the community.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 3, 2025 from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at Partlow Funeral Chapel. Bro. Steve Delashmit will officiate and interment will follow in the Wilson County Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Christopher Bay, Gregory Nyce, Ronnie Jarrell, Alton Driver, Larry Bay, Steve Driver, Anthony Driver, Gary Wayne Driver and Perry Carpenter.
