Phyllis Bancroft, age 69 of Lebanon, TN, passed away on November 16, 2025. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Friday, November 28, 2025 from 3 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Phyllis Dean Emerson Bancroft was born and raised in Hamilton, AL to Betty Sue Turner Emerson and Dexter Dean Emerson. She had the gift of joy and shared it with others at every opportunity. Phyllis loved comedy and always enjoyed a good laugh. Music was an important part of her daily life, and she was often dancing and singing along with her favorites. Phyllis was adventurous and loved to travel. Her favorite destinations were on the water, most notably boat days on the Tennessee River and beach trips to Destin, FL. She and her husband Bill lived on the island of Guam for two years. Other favorite trips included the Bahamas, Virgin Islands, Jamaica, Costa Rica and Mexico. Phyllis retired from Proctor & Gamble after more than 20 years, the majority of that time serving in many roles of Pringles potato chip production.
Phyllis is survived by her daughter Delie Bullock and son-in-law Justin Bullock, grandchildren Ava and Jackson Bullock, brother Patrick Emerson and his wife Dana, nieces and nephews Leah Powless Homan, Danielle Kennedy, Jonathan Powless, and Joshua and Caleb Emerson, and many beloved great-nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband William Bancroft, parents Betty and Dexter Emerson, and sisters Judy Burleson, Jane Powless, and Deborah Emerson.
