Nancy Cloe Barnett King Cash, age 91, of Sunnyvale, TX and formerly of Mt. Juliet, Tennessee passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2024.

Nancy was born in Ranger, TX and was the daughter of the late, W.S. and Nedra Barnett.

She was a 1950 graduate of Grand Prairie High School and spent two years at Abilene Christian College. Nancy earned a Bachelor’s degree from Lubbock Christian College in 1980 and a Master’s degree in Library Science at Texas Women’s University in 1982. She served as Librarian in Dallas public schools for 20 years.

Nancy was always active in local congregations wherever she lived. She was a member of Mt. Juliet Church of Christ and most recently, Mesquite Church of Christ in Mesquite, TX. She did mission work in Asia, Europe and Scandinavia. Nancy married Clarence King in June 1952. Together they moved to Mt. Juliet in 2006. She cared for Clancy for 7 years as his Parkinson’s Disease progressed. He passed away in 2009 at which time they had been married 57 years. Nancy also cared for her parents and her in-laws as they aged.

In 2014, Nancy started the second chapter of her life when she married Paul Cash and moved to Sunnyvale, TX. She enjoyed traveling, having guests in her home, reading and singing.

Daughters – Melissa (David) Burka of Mt. Juliet, TN and Konni Tharp of Tyler, TX
Sister – Vicki Barnett Dowdy of Van Buren, AR
Grandchildren – Kevin (Summer) Cook of Broken Arrow, OK, Scott (Abbie) Burka of Nashville, TN, Todd (Lauren) Burka of Nashville, TN and Ryley (Elizabeth) Tharp of Chandler, TX
Great-grandchildren – Colten Cook, William Burka and Thomas Burka

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.

Nancy’s favorite charity was Eastern European Missions https://www.eem.org. She also supported Christian education. In memory of Nancy, please consider making a donation to Eastern European Missions or any Christian university of your choice.
