Michael Brummett passed away on July 4, 2023 at age 60. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Friday, July 7, 2023 from 1-5 p.m.
Michael Allen Brummett was born in Bethpage TN to Edith Mae Trusty and Roosevelt Peter Brummett. Michael was a well-known figure at the Waffle House, cooking up all those Waffle House favorites for 34 years. He and his wife Liz worked together, cooking and in management, until they each had their own Waffle House to manage. In Michael’s spare time, he enjoyed studying war history, target-shooting, and going on cruises.
Michael is survived by his best friend, love of his life, and wife of 24 years: Liz Vaughn Brummett; daughters: Missy Michelle (Paul) Brown and Lisa (Max) Wallace; grandchildren: Preston Micah Lamson, Sidnee Grace Lamson, and Hali Page (Jonathan Matthews) Brown; great-granddaughter: Lainey Jean Matthews; siblings: Juanita Fay (R.T.) Crook, Jennifer Lynn, Randall Wayne, and Timothy Reed Brummett; and favorite pet: Eddiea Mae. He is preceded in death by parents Edith Mae and Peter Brummett, and brother Gary Brummett.
