Melissa Lynne Lannom, age 41 passed away on Thursday, May 4, 2023. She was a military veteran, wife, mother and grandmother.
Preceded in death by her father, Bobby Dean Moore; grandfather, Jerry Moore; and grandparents, Sammie and Opal Allen.
Melissa left behind husband of 6 years, Christopher Michael Lannom; mother, Dianna (stepfather, Randy) Stephens; daughters, Savannah Tuggle, Sydney Skelding and Sophia Tuggle; grandson, Ezeekial Cruz; sister, Carrie Anne Moore; step-grandmother, Patricia Moore; father and mother-in-law, Phillip and Roxie Lannom; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Melissa was an Airman First Class Nurse with the United States Air Force. In addition to her over 20 medical flights throughout Iraq, Afghanistan, Africa and other parts of the Middle East, Tootie (as she was called by fellow airmen) also helped rescue people in Haiti and after Hurricane Katrina. As a young mom, she sacrificed to commit her life to serving others. Her three beautiful daughters carry on her perseverance, tenacity and heart for service.
Visitation will be held at College Hills Church of Christ, 1401 Leeville Pk., on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4 p.m.-6 p.m. with A Celebration of Life Service to follow at 6 p.m.
