Marvin Ray Luna – age 89 of Mt. Juliet passed away on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital.
He is preceded in death by parents, James and Pearl Luna; wife of 58 years, Carol Jean Luna; 1 brother and 3 sisters.
Survived by daughter, Marcia (Jeff H.) Ray; grandchildren, Casi Ray (Brad) Ivey, Jessi Ray (Shelby) Kohring, & Dylan (Jordan) Ray; great grandchildren, Jax Ray, Ezra Kate Kohring, Elliana Ivey, Eli Reese Kohring, River Ray, Emmersyn Ivy, Knox Kohring, Enslee Ivey, and Gunner Ray; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family members.
Mr. Ray Luna passed away, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, faith, service, and devotion to his family.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Ray served his country honorably and carried that same sense of duty and commitment throughout his life. He was a faithful member of the College Hills Church of Christ, where his faith was an important part of who he was.
Ray was known for his strong work ethic and skilled hands. He owned and operated his own construction company for many years and later served as a Maintenance Supervisor for the State of Tennessee. In addition, he worked as a security officer at The Hermitage, where he was respected for his reliability and dedication.
More than any accomplishment, Ray’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his daughter, son-in-law, grandchildren and great-grandchildren with all his heart and took great pride in being involved in every aspect of their lives. Whether offering guidance, lending a helping hand, attending important events, or simply spending time together, he was always there when his family needed him.
Ray also enjoyed small building projects and was happiest when creating, repairing, or improving something with his hands. His craftsmanship, wisdom, and willingness to help others will be remembered by all who knew him.
He leaves behind a family who will cherish his memory, honor his example, and be forever grateful for the love and support he shared throughout his life. His legacy of faith, service, hard work, and devotion to family will continue for generations to come.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 at Partlow Funeral Chapel from 5 p.m. -7 p.m. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 at 10 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Graveside services will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens at 12 p.m. Bro. Johnny Markham will officiate. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the College Hills Church of Christ Children’s Ministry, 1401 Leeville Pk., Lebanon, TN 37087.
