Louise Lanier Tarpley age 90 of the Statesville community, died Wednesday morning, April 2, 2025 at her residence. Born Oct. 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Annie Lou Scurlock Lanier and was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Hubert Lee Tarpley; sisters, Nell Hill and Pauline Thomas and her brother, Harold Lanier. Louise was a member of Smith Fork Baptist Church and a retired employee of Toshiba.
Louise is survived by her daughters, Kathy Cook (Robert) Bailiff, Nelline Rogers, Janice (Mike) Jennings and Donna (Marlon) Dillard; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren; her sister, Ruth Kyle; sister-in-law, Bobbie Lanier and brother-in-law, Boone Cummins; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 4, 2025 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. David Haun and Michael Cooper officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services on Friday. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Interment will follow at Jennings Cemetery in Statesville.
