Loretta Carpenter – Loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2024 at her residence.

She is preceded in death by parents, Trigg and Ethel Kelley and husband, Paul Carpenter.

Survived by son, Terry (Michelle) Carpenter; daughters, Sherri (Robert) Justice and Lauri Hall; grandchildren, Nathan (Katie) Justice, Daniel (Kate) Hall, Austin (Bailey) Carpenter, Kellie (Jeremy) Johnston, and Avery (Austin) Shedden and Aly (Cameron) Hinzey; great-grandchildren Michael Justice, Dalton Hall, Conner Hall, Branson Hall, Ariel Justice, Elijah Hall, Charley Carpenter, Cami Carpenter, Kai Hall, and Graham Johnston; siblings, Deloras Lester, Claude Kelley, and Trigg Kelley and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and was a 1960 graduate of White County High School in Virginia and was the salutatorian of her class.

A devoted Christian, Mrs. Carpenter lived her life as a testament to her faith, always striving to love and serve others. Her good heart was evident in the countless acts of kindness she extended to those in need, offering comfort, encouragement, and support wherever it was needed.

Above all she was a caring and selfless mother and grandmother who poured her heart into her family. Her children will forever remember her as a source of strength, wisdom and unconditional love. She taught them the value of kindness, faith, and perseverance, leaving behind a legacy that will endure for generations.

Mrs. Carpenter enjoyed sewing, crossword puzzles, crocheting, and watching Hallmark movies.

There will be a private family celebration of Mrs. Carpenter’s Life. The family request you lift them up in prayers. In lieu of flowers contributions are requested to be made to an animal shelter of your choice.
