Kenneth L. Bates age 72 of Smithville, died Wednesday morning, April 1, 2026 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro.
Born June 27, 1953 in Temperance Hall, he was the son of the late Porter and Lorene Bates and was preceded in death by his brother, Grady Dale Bates and sisters, Helen Faye Self and Betty Jo Fuston Cantrell.
Kenneth is survived by his son, Daniel (Rachel) Bates and daughter, Crystal Redmon both of Lancaster; grandchildren, Joseph Simpson, Bradley and John Redmon and his faithful dog and companion, Jack.
Kenneth has chosen cremation and a time for a Celebration of Life will be announced.
