Johnny Norman Tenpenny, Sr., 84, a beloved member of the Mt. Juliet, Tennessee community and faithful member of Center Chapel Church of Christ, was born on Sunday, February 9th, 1941, in Nashville, Tennessee, to the late James Robert and Ocie Jane Davenport Tenpenny, and was received Home with great joy by our Heavenly Father on Monday, December 1st, 2025.
The Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home at Mt. Juliet on Friday, December 5th, 2025, at 02:00 p.m. Interment will follow the service with full Military Honors in Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens with family members serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, December 4th from 04:00 p.m. – 08:00 p.m. and on Friday, December 5th from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at 02:00 p.m.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Kent, David, Charles, Wallace, Hayden, and Patsy.
He is survived by loving wife, Linda Fay Tenpenny; children, Michael Edward Tenpenny, Johnny Norman Tenpenny, Jr., and Sharon Lee (Mike) Graves; grandchildren, Buddy Escue, Dalton Graves, Wyatt Graves, Shane Tenpenny, Mark Tenpenny, Jeremy Tenpenny, Abbie Tenpenny, Samantha Briggs, and Brittney Tenpenny; several great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
