John a devoted father, proud grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away surrounded by love. Known for his kind heart and easy smile, John was the kind of man whose presence made you feel at home.
A true family man, John’s greatest joy was spending time with his daughters and grandchildren. He shared a particularly special bond with his granddaughter Alexandria, and his face would light up whenever any of his family came to visit. Whether it was tossing a ball in the yard, watching TV with his grandson, or proudly cheering from the sidelines at his grandkids’ games, John was always present-and always proud.
John was an avid golfer and a lifelong Clemson Tigers fan, enjoying both football and basketball, whether listening to games or attending them in person. A reader at heart, he especially loved the thrill and suspense of Stephen King novels. He also appreciated life’s simple pleasures: a good cigarette, a cold Dr. Pepper, and a hearty meal-especially at Texas Roadhouse.
He created treasured memories by taking his daughters to their first concerts, playing the “I love you more” game, and being the kind of dad who always made time for fun and laughter.
John will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his warm spirit, and the many ways he showed up for the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him and the many moments he made unforgettable.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held on Saturday June 7, 2025 12 noon until 2:00 p.m. in the Partlow Funeral Chapel.
