Funeral service for Mr. Joe B. Dillard Sr. will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, February 12, 2025, at Immanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Pratt officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday 4-7 PM at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home and Wednesday 10 AM until service at Immanuel.
Mr. Dillard, age 82 of Lebanon passed away February 8, 2025, at his home.
Born December 3, 1942, in Wilson County, he is the son of the late Andy and Mary Robinson Dillard. He was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, and a fifty five year Master Mason with the Strawberry Plains Masonic Lodge #462 F&AM. Early in his life, he was a baker, then worked for American Airlines as a mechanic, then AVCO, and last helped his wife in their day care business. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and their wives, James & Iris Dillard, and Kenneth & Barbara Dillard.
He is survived by his wife of over sixty two years, Charlotte Hunter Dillard; four children: Sherry (James) Bryant, Christy (Mark) Thompson, Terri (Brian) Breeden, and Joe (Jennifer) Dillard Jr.; seven grandchildren: Tiffany Thompson, Tatum (Remington) Tyler, Rachel Bryant, Emily Bryant, McKenzie (Trevor) Wimmer, Molly Dillard, and Matthew Dillard; three great grandchildren: Oaklyn, Rhett, and Riggs Tyler; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers: Mark Thompson, James Bryant, Brian Breeden, Remington Tyler, Trevor Wimmer, Kenny Dillard, John Dillard, and Matthew Dillard.
