Joaquin Archuleta, age 53 passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2024.
He was preceded in death by father, Juan Archuleta; paternal grandparents, Ernesto and Rose Vigil; and maternal grandparents, Eugene and Clara Lavalleur.
Survived by mother, Sandra Lavalleur and her partner, Steve Piety; daughter, Ashley Archuleta and her mother, Janis Guzman-Sosias; mother of his children, Kendra Ahearn; sons, Jaxson and Keegan Archuleta; grandchildren, Abigail Lashbrook and Riley Griffis; sister, Shelley Smith and her husband, Dave; brother, Jovan Archuleta; nephews, Jared and Ryan Smith and Donaciano Archuleta; niece, Angel Archuleta; and a host of other family and friends.
Joaquin graduated from Littleton High School in Colorado and attended Trinidad State Junior College for 2 years. He then attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He simply enjoyed quiet moments in the crisp mountain air, Colorado held a special place in his life. He was a really good cook, loved to grill, and enjoyed trying new dishes. He would always measure with his heart.
He will be remembered for his stories, his laughter, his smile and the unconditional love he showered on his family and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
