Janie Marie Arbuckle Edwards – age 81 of Lebanon passed away on Monday, June 1, 2026 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She is preceded in death by parents, William and Naomi Arbuckle; great grandson, Reid Allan Williams; and sister, Jo Ann Edwards.
Janie is survived by daughters, Missy (Gary) Yarbrough and Lisa (Doug) Williams; loving “Nanny” to grandchildren, Cody (Shelby) Yarbrough, Kelsey (Jeremy) Luttrell, Blake (Sarah) Williams, and Abbey (Caylor Bates) Williams; great-grandchildren, Lakelyn, Crew, and Evie Blu Yarbrough; sister, Barbara Heston; and host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
A proud graduate of Lebanon High School, Janie carried throughout her life the values of hard work, friendship, and family. She shared an extraordinary love story with her husband, Bobby. Together for 66 years and married for 61 years, their relationship was a beautiful example of faithfulness, commitment, and enduring love.
Janie and Bobby enjoyed traveling together and created countless memories exploring the mountains they loved so much, as well as taking trips beyond the borders of the United States. Whether near or far, their greatest joy was simply being together and sharing life’s adventures.
At home, Janie found peace and happiness in tending to her flowers in her yard. She delighted in watching flowers bloom and took pride in creating beauty around her home. Yet, more than any garden she cultivated, the true blossoms of her life were her family.
Janie was never afraid to speak her mind. She had a way of sharing her thoughts honestly and sincerely. Because of her candid nature and love for others, people were naturally drawn to her.
The light of Janie’s life was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Some of her happiest moments were spent sitting by the pool, watching them laugh, play, and grow. Those precious gatherings filled her heart with joy and provided memories that her family will cherish forever.
Janie will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her unwavering love for her family, and the warmth she shared with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure, and her love a gift that will continue to live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
“Her children rise up and call her blessed.” – Proverbs 31:28
