She leaves behind her loving family: her three sons and their families – Billy Davis, Allen (Kristie) Davis, and Richard (Melinda) Davis; her adored grandchildren – Paige Cunningham, Jason Davis, Jackson Davis, Nicholas Davis, Madelynn Davis, Shaun Davis, and Jayla Davis; and her great-grandchild Raiden Cunningham.
She is also survived by her sister Ima Jean (Red) Lee and her brother Ricky (Billie) Netherton, along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.
In her younger years, Geraldine could often be found alongside her mother and sisters, singing their hearts out in church as The Netherton Family. She served faithfully as a children’s Sunday school teacher and was an active member of the Church of God of Prophecy.
Geraldine dedicated many years to the Lebanon Special School District, where she worked lovingly as a cafeteria lady until her retirement in 2006. Her kindness and joyful spirit made her a favorite among students and staff alike.
She loved the Lord, her three boys, her grandchildren, and the Wilson County Fair, which brought her so much happiness year after year. Geraldine also had a deep love for her flowers and gardening, and she took great pride in canning and preserving the fruits of her labor to share with family and friends.
In her later years, Geraldine could often be found chatting on the phone with her loved ones, or working on her many crafts, including crocheting, cross-stitching, plastic canvas, and making handmade ornaments for her family and friends. She also loved taking pictures, capturing the special moments and people she held dear.
Geraldine will be remembered for her sweet spirit, gentle smile, and loving heart. Her faith, warmth, and devotion to her family leave a legacy that will be cherished forever.
“Well done, thou good and faithful servant enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.”
– Matthew 25:23
