George Johnson, age 84, of Lebanon TN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on May 12, 2025.
The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Gordon Lee and Brother Drew Eastes, is 2 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2025 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Cedar Grove Cemetery will follow the service.
Pallbearers: Tommy Foster, Colton Gross, Garrett Chaney, and Dennis Foster. Honorary Pallbearers: Woody Hunt, Bobby Thompson, Jackie Bly, Bill McNutt, and Joel Burnley.
George Wilson Johnson was born in Hartsville TN to Tiny Gammons Johnson and Lester Johnson. He was a lifelong sports fan with a special love for baseball. When the Cumberland Baseball program was discontinued, George re-started the baseball team in 1964 as benefactor, driver, and short-stop. George also built his exterior home improvement business which he owned and operated for many years. He and his family attended the Ministry Worship Center in Lebanon TN.
Mr. Johnson, “G-Pa,” is survived by his wife Naomi “G-Ma” Foster Johnson, son Brett (Angie) Johnson, grandchildren Levi Johnson and Lexi Hibdon, great-granddaughter Della Hibdon, siblings Velma Calhoun and Billy Johnson, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Tiny “Nanny” Johnson and Lester “Pa” Johnson and siblings Thomas Johnson and Earnest Johnson.
