He was preceded in death by wife, Sherry J. Bilbrey; parents, Milton and Evell Gregory Bilbrey; siblings, Reba Adams, Faye Holder, and Mack Bilbrey.
He is survived by son, George Richard “Richie” (Gina) Bilbrey; grandchildren, Garrett (Ashley) Bilbrey and Kailey Bilbrey; great-grandchildren, Graiden Bilbrey and Riley Bilbrey; sister, Linda Kerr; sisters-in-laws, Patricia (Pete) Petruzzi, Judy Hughes (Gary Kovaskitz), and Debbie (Charles) Moss; numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends also survive. Also, close friend Karla Bradshaw, one of Sherry’s very best friends, Karla visited with him and brought him breakfast every weekday after Sherry’s passing.
George was born March 4th, 1944, in Hartsville, Tennessee. He graduated from Trousdale County High School with the Class of 1962. He was a Mason. He loved grandkids, hunting, westerns and was a great storyteller. He was very proud of Garrett & Kailey and always enjoyed spending time with them. He especially loved it when Garrett & Ashley brought Graiden & Riley to see him. He laughed as they played in his floor. Gunsmoke, The Rifleman, and all old westerns could be seen on his TV and definitely heard with the high volume at all hours. George loved reminiscing and telling stories to his family and friends. One of the most requested stories was about his monkey, George, who did not care for Richie very much. As long as he was driving, he enjoyed hanging out at breakfast with his biscuit club buddies. He will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
