Faye Cummins Mills Burton, known by her friends as “The Red Headed Heifer”, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2025 surrounded by those she loved. She is preceded in death by husbands, Earl Mills and Paul Burton; children, Dawn Thornton and Lisa Burke; parents, Reece and Louie Cummins and siblings, W.R. “Dub” Cummins, Charles Cummins and Harold Cummins.
Ms. Burton is survived by her daughter, Michele Correnti; 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and siblings, Wade Cummins, Helen Brooks and Karen (Bill) Chaney.
Born in 1937 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, Faye spent time living in several states before returning home in 1979 and planting roots in Lebanon. She was a member of Highland Heights Church of Christ for over 45 years and retired after working as a pharmacy assistant for St. Thomas Hospital. Faye was a wonderfully colorful person who loved to make others laugh. She had a passion for fishing, crocheting, and cooking – her dishes were especially beloved by her family. Her warmth, humor, and vibrant spirit touched all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
Visitation for Ms. Burton will take place at Partlow Funeral Chapel Thursday, April 10th from 10 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Bro. Michael Grooms and Sam Willcut will officiate the service. Tommy Chaffin, Bo Ford, Joshua Grooms, Alex Vanhook, John Schwarz, Daniel Grooms and F.H. Gates will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Kerry Duke, Jack Honeycutt, Dan Erranton and the Elders and Deacons of Highland Heights Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Faye’s honor to Highland Heights Church of Christ.
