Evelyn Tucker, age 90, of Portland, TN, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025 at her home. She was born on February 22, 1935 in Portland, TN, the daughter of Hershel and Clara Legge.
Evelyn leaves behind a legacy of faith, having served faithfully for many years as a cherished member of Portland First Baptist Church. Above all, she will be remembered for her unwavering love and devotion to her family. Passionate about nourishing others, Evelyn devoted many years to her role as a school cook at Portland High School, where her warm meals and kind spirit were appreciated.
Evelyn is survived by her sons Forrest Glen Tucker and John W. Tucker, 6 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren, her sister Faye Mandrell and brother David Legge. She is preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Lee (Sonny) Tucker and oldest son Stephen Allen Tucker. Parents Hershel and Clara Legge. Sisters Bonnie, Margaret, Patricia and Kaye.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Portland First Baptist, date and time will be announced at a later date.
