Jo Howell peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, March 15, 2026. She was born on November 12, 1939. Jo was preceded in death by her late husband M. R. Huffines, her father and mother Ralph and Oma Harris, her brother John Fields Jr., and sister Sara Hook.
She is survived by her husband Ray Howell, nieces Betty Kelley of Columbia, TN, Eva Binion (Stanley); great niece Rachel Smith (Jeremy), great nephew CJ Binion (Janna), great-great nephew John Wilson Binion.
Jo worked at TRW Ross Gear and retired from Lea’s Phone Center. She enjoyed gospel music, collecting antiques, photography, and traveling. Jo was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
The funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown with Bro. Mark Caruth officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service. Family and friends will serve as pall bearers. Interment will follow at Barton’s Creek Cemetery.
