Ethel Florence Hamill passed away peacefully on Feb 18, 2025, at home in Portland TN.
Born on April 8th 1930, in Chicago IL to Florence Lee and Walter Krueger. She grew up in Brighton Park then settled in Justice IL where she and her husband John Hamill raised their two children Sharon and Michael. She and John moved to Orland Park, then after John had passed, moved with her children to Tennessee.
Ethel worked for Kraft General Foods for 27 years then retired at age 61. Ethel enjoyed hosting family gatherings at all the holidays and faithfully attended and volunteered at the local Lutheran church.
Home is graced with several pictures she cross-stitched over the years; she also stitched many birth records for grandchildren and nieces. Ethel was preceded by her beloved husband John and her 8 brothers. She is survived by her children Michael (Karen) and Sharon, by her grandchildren Meghan and Matthew, and by her great-grandchild Charlotte, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Saturday Feb 22 at 11am, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 4095 US-31W, White House TN. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
