Estelene Johnson, age 91 of Lebanon, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, November 19th.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marshall Johnson, parents, Hilman Lee Davenport & Pearl Witcher Davenport, her brothers Buster Davenport, Kenneth Davenport, Charles Davenport, Truman Davenport, and George Davenport.
She is survived by her son, Michael (Kathy) Johnson of Lebanon and daughter Joy Johnson Kemp of Knoxville. Grand-children Ben (Becky) Johnson of Lebanon, Beth (Andy) Rivers of Thompson Station, Brittany (Charlie) Blunt of Burns, & William Kemp of Knoxville. Great-grandchildren Sydney Rivers, Logan Rivers, Charles Blunt III, Marshall Johnson, Caroline Blunt, Wyatt Johnson, Catherine Blunt, & Annie Johnson.
She and her husband of 57 years met with the help of her match-maker brother Kenneth when Marshall and Kenneth came home after serving in the Korean War. Shortly after Marshall came home from Korea they were married in 1954. Estelene graduated from Trousdale County High School. Her banking career began in 1953 with Commerce Union Bank, retiring in 1998 from Nations Bank.
As a Christian Estelene attended the South Water Church of Christ and Hartsville Pike Church of Christ in Gallatin. After the passing of her husband, she moved to Lebanon where she attended the Maple Hill Church of Christ.
Estelene enjoyed sewing, cooking, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, November 20th from Noon to 2:00 PM, followed by the service at the Sellars Family Heritage at Gallatin with Minister Doyle Farris and Minister Adam Noles officiating. A private family Crypt side service at Sumner Memorial Garden Mausoleum will take place on Tuesday. Pallbearers: Ben Johnson, Willie Kemp, Andy Rivers, Charlie Blunt II, Logan Rivers, Charlie Blunt III, Marshall Johnson, and Wyatt Johnson.
