Celebrating the Vibrant Life of Doris Singer
1939 – 2026
It is with both heavy hearts and a lifetime of beautiful memories that we announce the passing of Doris, who left the world peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2026. She was a force of nature, a beacon of style, and the ultimate hostess who brought warmth, laughter, and a healthy dose of sparkle to everyone she met.
Born in 1939 in a small community in PA, Doris grew up with deep roots and a front row seat to history. Over her colorful life, she witnessed the world transform in ways her childhood self could never imagine. Yet, no matter how much the world changed around her, she remained true to herself – grounded, yet always looking forward to her husband Jerry’s next adventure.
To know Doris was to know a woman who never met a leopard print she didn’t like or a piece of jewelry that was ‘too much’. She possessed a tremendous sense of style and was always impeccably put together. To her, getting dressed wasn’t a daily routine, it was an art form. She walked through life with a signature flair, teaching her daughters from a young age that a little bit of glitter and a lot of confidence could get you through anything. She left a trail of sparkles wherever she went.
Doris was truly gregarious, a social butterfly who genuinely loved being with people. Her happiest moments were spent surrounded by friends and family. Entertainer. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, turning ordinary days into grand celebrations. Her home was always open, table always set, her heart full when others were present.
As a mother, she was an icon, our first best friend, and a daily reminder to live life out loud. While the world will be a little less stylish without her, her joyful spirit will live on in the family she adored.
Doris was preceded in death by her adoring husband, Jerry Singer.
She leaves behind her loving children, Sandra Spicer and Helene Singer Cash.
Grandma Doris will be deeply missed by her grandchildren, Jessica Ortwein (Anthony), Kaitlin Spicer, and Brian Spicer Jr, as well as her great-grandchildren, Kai May and Eli Spicer. Being survived by her chosen family, Katie (Marcus) Carlton Beale, Kenzie Carlton, Kerrigan Beale, and Kylan Coe.
Doris is survived by her siblings, Barry (Susan) Snyder and Carollee Walton.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Clyde and Irene Snyder; brother, Clyde Snyder; and sister, Margaret Lord.
Visitation will be held at Sellars Funeral Home in Lebanon, TN, on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 04:00 p.m. – 07:00 p.m.
