Donald Dewayne Vaughn, age 84, of Mt. Juliet, passed away November 3, 2025. He was born on February 24, 1941, in Monterey, Tennessee to the late Abe and Oma Vaughn. Donald was a devoted husband who loved his wife, Hazel, immensely and sacrificially. He was a great father who shared his wisdom and life lessons with his son, Kenneth, leaving behind a lasting legacy of love and guidance. He was also a loving brother who shared a close and enduring bond with his siblings. A dog lover at heart, Donald cherished the many dogs he had over the years. A loyal fan of the Atlanta Braves, he rarely missed a game and always cheered them on with enthusiasm.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Oma Vaughn, brothers, James D. Vaughn and Arvin Vaughn, sisters, Betty J. Buckner and Theresa Vaughn.
He is survived by:
- Wife of 54 years – Hazel Vaughn
- Son – Kenneth (Paula) Vaughn
- Brothers – Minnis (Ruth) Vaughn and William “Bud” (Loretta) Vaughn
- Brother-in-law – Grover Buckner
- Sisters-in-law – Carole Vaughn and JoAnn Vaughn
- Many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family members.
Private graveside funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday November 7, 2025, at Sand Springs Memorial Gardens in Monterey, Tennessee, with Bro. Wayne Miller officiating.
