Delores Joyce Puckett, lovingly known as “Granny” to her family, peacefully passed away on December 31, 2024, to join her heavenly Father.

Born on January 7, 1947, in Cookeville, Tennessee, Joyce was the cherished daughter of Beecher Edward Clark and Rillie Jewel Welch.

Joyce dedicated her life to serving others and the Lord as a member of the Church of Christ she worked at Chevron/Amoco in Hermitage, Tennessee, where she was revered for her leadership and for the warmth she extended to her customers and colleagues alike.

Delores is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Lloyd Charles Puckett, Sr. She is also preceded in death by her beloved sister, Doris Myers.

She leaves behind a loving family, including her siblings Sharon Gregory (Jack), Patricia “Pat” Johnson (Lynn), and brother-in-law Lee Myers. A proud mother, she is survived by her children, Lloyd (Julie) Puckett and David “Joe” (Angela) Puckett, as well as her treasured grandchildren, Kaitlin (Wesley) Harris, Magan (Doug) Ferguson, Sarah Bernitt, Holly Puckett and ben Puckett; and great-grandchildren Charlie Harris, Indie Harris, Juliette Ferguson, Samuel Ferguson, Scarlett Ferguson, Ezekiel Ferguson, Rosie Ferguson, Douglas Ferguson, Levi Bernitt, and Layn Bernitt.

Throughout her life, Joyce was a beacon of love, compassion, and kindness, inspiring all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her unwavering spirit and dedication to her family and community left an indelible mark on the hearts of many. Joyce was truly a remarkable woman, known for her incredible ability to touch people’s hearts—and their stomachs—with her cooking. Whether it was her chocolate meringue pie, peanut butter fudge, or any of her other delightful dishes, Joyce had a unique way of making everyone feel cherished. Each meal she prepared was an expression of her love, and her culinary talents became a cherished part of her legacy. The gatherings around her table were not just about food; they were about connection, laughter, and the bonds that tie us together—reminders of how she made life a little sweeter for everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Granny’s legacy of love will continue to resonate within her family and those she touched throughout her life. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Visitation for Joyce will be held at Sellars Funeral Home in Mount Juliet, Tennessee on Friday January 3rd, 2025 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Saturday, January 4, 2025 will be the final visitation visitation at 12:00 PM with a service to follow at 1:00 PM in the Chapel. https://www.sellarsfh.com
