Delores Crooks Obit

Delores Ann Raines Crooks, born July 25, 1941, passed away on January 3, 2026, at Vanderbilt Wilson County Hospital, Lebanon TN. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Danny Sellars, is 1 p.m. Friday, January 9, 2026 in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Interment in Wilson County Memorial will follow the service. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.

Delores was born in Smith County TN and later moved to Lebanon during her childhood, where she would spend most of her life. While working at Hagaman’s Truck Stop, she met the love of her life, Tom Crooks. Together, they built not only a life but a legacy of hard work and dedication to their community.

Delores and Tom owned and operated Dac’s Market in LaGuardo for many years, serving neighbors and friends with care and commitment. Afterward, Delores continued her passion for business by operating the Dac’s Market Basket in Lebanon until her retirement. Delores was known for her generous and charitable spirit, often quietly helping those in need by offering groceries or fuel when someone found themselves short on cash.

In their later years, Delores and Tom enjoyed developing and building their dream home on Old Hickory Lake, where they found great joy. Boating was a lifelong passion they shared, creating countless memories on the water.

Delores was a member of Nancy Steward’s Sunday School Class at Immanuel Baptist Church. Her faith in God was the guiding force throughout her life which she instilled in her family.

Delores is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Tom R. Crooks; her mother and stepfather, Naomi and Ira Pickler; her father, Douglas W. Raines, Sr.; her brothers, Roy and Doug Raines; and her sister, Elma Jean Cortino.

She is survived by sons, Derrick (Tammy) Knowles of Lebanon and Ryan (Middie) Crooks of Hendersonville; her daughter, Wendy (Tom) Keifer of Lebanon; her brother, Billy Joe (Connie) Pickler; her grandson, Chase (Erin) Knowles of Lebanon; and her cherished great-granddaughters, Parker and Caroline Knowles; and extended family Logan and Chelsea Howell, their children Kaisley and Cohen; and Chris Lewis.
