Connie Gatlin Akins, age 62, passed away on January 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Martha Gatlin.

She is survived by her husband of 18yrs, David; daughter, Ashley (Brett) Seymour; son, Collin Gatlin; grandsons, Conner and Liam Seymour; siblings, Sharon Gatlin, Thomas Gatlin, Susan Gatlin, Johnny (Julie) Gatlin, David (Marie) Gatlin, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Connie was a school teacher in Wilson County for 31 years, teaching at Mt. Juliet Elementary, West Elementary, and Stoner Creek Elementary where she taught the longest. She loved photography, the beach, the mountains, she loved to “go”, Jimmy Buffet, playing games, and after retiring she found the love of gardening. She was a very devoted wife, mother, friend, sister, and Nonnie. Her favorite role was being Nonnie to Conner and Liam. Her life was devoted to her family, her relationship with the Lord, and her teaching career.

Connie had the brightest and most contagious, joyful spirit. She was generous with her love, support, and guidance for anyone who was blessed enough to know and love her. She lived each of her days full of gratitude for her countless blessings.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 31, 2025, at The Glade Church, 9000 Stewart Ferry Pike, Mt. Juliet, TN 37122 from 4:00PM-8:00PM, and Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00AM till the time of service at 12:30PM. Burial will take place at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens.
