Mrs. Christine Phelps Burks passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022, she was 93 years old.
She was one of 12 siblings born and raised in Pulaski, Tennessee. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon, TN for 59 years and taught Sunday School for many of those years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Henretta and Weakley Phelps; husband, Elwood Burks; brothers, Weakley Phelps, Earl Phelps, Dean Phelps, & Jesse Phelps; sisters, Dorothy Phelps, Elizabeth Higgins Crabtree, & Virginia Erskind; and granddaughter, April Arbuckle.
She is survived by two daughters, Charlene (Sonny) Arbuckle and Sherry (late Jerry) Klein; sister, Linda Bass; brothers, Carl (Marie) Phelps, Mark (Jean) Phelps and Neal (Theresa) Phelps; three grandchildren, Nathan Arbuckle, Trey and Angela Hunter, Chantel and Rob Gibson; great-grandchildren, Sabryn Gibson, Samuel Hunter, Josiah (Alexa) Hunter, Kristina Hunter, Daniel Hunter, Elijah Hunter, Eva Hunter, Ezra Hunter, Joshua Hunter, & Kinsley Eskew and many loving nieces and nephews. Her family would like to thank her loving caregiver Shontella Barnes.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2022 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Partlow Funeral Chapel/ Partee House, 233 West Main St. with the service at 1 p.m. Bro Donald Owens will officiate the service. Interment will be at Phelps Family Cemetery in Pulaski, Tn at 4 p.m. following the service. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
