Cecil Carter, Jr. age 84, formerly of Watertown, passed away Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 2023 at his residence in Lafayette.
Born Aug. 13, 1939 in Dekalb County, he was the son of the late Cecil Carter, Sr. and Era Mae Petty Carter.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Marie Carter in 1999 and by a sister, Cordie Johnson.
Cecil was a lifelong carpenter and a veteran of the US Army.
He is survived by his children, Tim Robertson (Melinda) of Brush Creek, Lynn Gallagher (Ed) of Scottsville, KY, Renee Thomas (Brandon) of Lafayette, Scott Carter (Brooke Anderson) of Bowling Green, KY; special family, Rebecca Petty and Marlene Bly; grandchildren, Amanda Payne (Aaron), Chad Robertson, Julie Amos (Kevin), Derek Robertson, Breanna Wolfe, Cassie, Bentley and Logan Thomas; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Drennon officiating. Visitation 4-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. till service time on Tuesday.
