Mr. Buddy Carl Ganders, age 64 of Lebanon and formerly Portland, Tennessee went to his Heavenly home on Friday, December 6, 2024.

Buddy was born on April 12, 1960 in Houston, Texas to the late Jack Owen and Frances Elizabeth Cassel Ganders.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack Ganders and Robert Ganders.

He is survived by his life partner, Donna Belcher; daughters, Kelly (Colt) Martin, Vonda (Jesse) Key and Carla (Michael) Sadler; mother of daughters, Debra Ganders; grandchildren, Nicholas (Mautresidy) Patton, Joey Patton, Dylan (Ari) Patton, Cameron Johnson, Peyton Martin, Kaitlyn Martin, J. J. Shrum, Cadence Shrum, James Key, Jenavieve Key, Phoenix Key and Cooper Sadler; five great-grandchildren; brother, Monty Ganders; sisters-in-law, Ruby Reed and Candee Ganders.

Buddy loved his family. He raised three daughters and five grandchildren. He was a Christian and loved the Lord. He always said he wasn’t afraid to die because he knew he was Heaven bound. Every night at bedtime, he would repeat the Lord’s prayer. He would do it a short phrase at a time. He loved music, especially traditional country music. He loved dancing the two step and country dancing. He was an exceptionally good dancer and enjoyed teaching others to dance.

He loved the beach and going to the lake. He enjoyed taking family and friends on the boat. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding the four wheeler, wood working, cooking, camping, playing cards and dominoes. He had a good sense of humor, was resourceful at solving problems, loved to aggravate and make people laugh. He will be dearly missed by everyone that knew him and loved him.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 21st at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Sellars Family Heritage at Portland with Bro. David Harper officiating. Visitation with the family will be Saturday, December 21st from 1:00-2:00 PM at the funeral home. In honor of Buddy the family encourages everyone to dress in jeans, boots and hats.
