Bobby Raines, age 86 of Lebanon, passed away on June 20, 2026. The Funeral Service, conducted by Brother Kevin White, is 4 p.m. Saturday, June 27, 2026, in the chapel of Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN. Leonard Diebold will also speak about the beautiful life of Bobby Raines. Interment in Conatser Cemetery will follow the service. Pallbearers: Bryson, Landon, and Ryan Raines, Andrew Phillips, Kenneth Neal, and Barry Scott. Honorary Pallbearers: Mark Shutts, Shorty Taylor, Buck Hall, Ted Malone, P. John Conatser, and William McGowan. The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 2 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m.
Bobby Ray Raines was born in Nashville TN, one of six children to Katherine Green Raines and Jack Raines. He was a long-time member of Berea Church of Christ. First and foremost, he loved the Lord, and his deep faith was the cornerstone of his life. That boundless love naturally overflowed into his family, whom he cherished above all else. Known for his incredibly warm and welcoming spirit, he truly never met a stranger. Anyone who crossed his path was instantly treated like an old friend.
Bobby worked as a pattern maker for AVCO/Textron aircraft parts for 29 years then spent his retirement years working at Auto Village. Bobby had a gift for drawing and enjoyed using his creativity. He loved socializing with his work and church families, though many other people have Bobby visit stories too. Stock car racing and the TN Vols remained favorite pastimes while he was also enthusiastic about other sporting events, Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. He kept up with the news and current events and took pleasure in having breakfast with his friends.
Bobby is survived by his sons Doug (Rebecca) Raines and Mike Raines; grandchildren: Chloe (Andrew) Phillips, Bryson (Korie) Raines, Landon Raines, and Ryan Raines; sister: Kathy Gentry; friend and mother of Doug, Carmen Williams; many beloved nieces and nephews; and fur baby: Wrigley. He is preceded in death by his parents Katherine and Jack Raines, sisters Betty Mayo, Peggy French, and Linda Kay Boone, and brother Jackie Raines.
To know him was to know joy, especially through his contagious laugh, which could brighten any room and will be dearly missed by all who had the blessing of hearing it.
