Mr. Bobby Albritton age 77 of the Hickman Community was pronounced deceased at 2:08 p.m. Sunday afternoon February 9, 2025 at the Smith County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Carthage with his daughter Rachel, her husband Phillip, grandson Bryson, special friend Kathy, and friend Randy by his side.
Bro. Doug Dillard will officiate and Mr. Albritton’s longtime friend, Randy Wakefield, will deliver the eulogy at the 1 p.m. Wednesday afternoon February 12th funeral services from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home. Burial will follow beside his son Richard in the Gordonsville Cemetery. The Albritton family will receive friends at Sanderson in Carthage only on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the 1 p.m. services.
He was one of two sons born to the late Jessie Howard “Shorty” Albritton who died April 15, 2015 at the age of 88 and Mary Katherine Bennett Albritton who died March 6, 2020 at the age of 91 and was born Bobby Glenn Albritton at the Dr. Thayer S. Wilson’s clinic in Carthage on January 31, 1948. Mr. Albritton’s only son, Richard Glenn Albritton, died on September 18, 2012 at the age of 44.
Mr. Albritton attended Smith County High School and in 1966 graduated from Lebanon High School. In his younger days he was employed by the Texas Boot Corporation in Lebanon, then AVCO and later opened Auto Parts Plus with his son across from the Carthage Post Office and in 1989 constructed and opened the T.N.T. Shell Market on Gordonsville Highway. He always had a love for automobiles and created the T.N.T. Racing team for himself and his son Richard. Bobby also loved the sport of softball and playing golf with his many friends and always possessed a competitive spirit.
He was baptized by Pastor Doug Dillard at the Lighthouse Church in the New Middleton Community. Surviving is daughter Rachel Albritton Slagle and husband Phillip and their son, Byson Slagle of Gordonsville; special friend, Kathy Farley Smith of the Hickman Community; brother, Larry Albritton and wife Kay Sircy Albritton of the Pleasant Shade Community; his beloved fur baby, Casey.
Because of Bobby’s love for animals and especially dogs, the family has requested memorials to the Smith County Humane Society.
